EXTENSIVE READING ACTIVITY (PART 2)

Now I show you the other Extensing reading activity That we had prepared to 3rd course of Primary School. These other is more easy and we used other different tool.We can used these idea in many subjects like a language, english, nature,science...

PROCEDURE TO READ THE STORY

First of all, the teacher will read the tale using images and mime in order to make it easier to understand the story. Once the childrenknow the complete story we will start working the vocabulary and pronunciation.To do that,we will ask each student to read aloud a sentence that the teacher will have previously read until we finish the story.We will pay especial attention to the verbs  and we will work them through mime.

AFTER READING ACTIVITY

The postreading activity we propose is to create a video using GoAnimate, a cloud based platform that allows users to develop narrative videos, in which characters speak with lip-sync and move around. With this movie creator,you can add your own voice or just tyipe the text you want the narrator to say or the dialogs for the characters of the story.

You can also choose different voices for  both male and female.In a first session,as a whole group, we will decide the text to write for the narrator and see how many characters and scenes we will need.Then,in groups of five or six, we will create the characters after explaining them how to do it.

In a second session,we will show them how to use the specific tools which they will need to create the  video such us inserting character’s movements and expressions,inserting backgrounds and audios,animation effects,etc.

We will dedicate as many sessions as considered necessary to allow working in groups to make their own videos with the guide of the teacher. Once their video is ready they will expose it to their classmates.
